In one of the suburbs of the holy City of Makkah, lies Al Babteen market, a 2 floors commercial building in addition to a half floor offices, covered in a rocky land to leveled the floor with the street level. The project formed as (U) shaped producing shops directed to the center that contains parking slots. This (U) shaped results in dead corners area, which we utilize as services and circulation elements to access the offices floor. Each shape has it’s own toilet and pantry, with mezzanine floor, and each office also has it’s own services. The character of the project has taken from the old buildings of Makkah and treated with large but simple elements, such as pointed arches, arcades, towers and vertical shading oriental devices.
