Iceland Mosque

  • Alongside the main hall, a slender minaret rises in the likeness of a basalt pillar, drawing inspiration from Iceland’s volcanic formations. The surrounding roofscape is shaped into peaks and valleys, echoing the movement of drifting icebergs as it catches and reflects light throughout the day.
  • A Mosque in Reykjavik reimagines Islamic architecture within the Icelandic landscape, creating a place of sanctity, reflection, and community. The design takes the form of a crystalline glass cube, recalling the purity of ice while opening the prayer hall to expansive views of the northern sky. Through a glazed ceiling, daylight filters into the interior, fostering a sense of openness and spiritual connection.
