- Designed to blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings, this public education and prevention center reflects the mountainous topography of the Istanbul region. The building’s form and spatial organization draw from geological layering and natural tectonics, creating a low-lying structure that responds sensitively to its context.
- The schematic design explores the movement of sunlight throughout the day and across seasons, using it as both an environmental design factor and a conceptual tool. The building massing was shaped to maximize daylight penetration while tracking solar rhythms, resulting in a layered morphology that aligns with sustainability principles.
- The design also integrated passive water collection strategies to make use of scarce rainfall, directing it toward the irrigation of both interior and exterior green areas. Cultural halls and public spaces were conceived with energy efficiency in mind, reinforcing the project’s broader goals of awareness, resilience, and environmental responsibility.
