- Concept
- The centre is designed as an inclusive environment to support children with cerebral palsy and their families. The main idea is to integrate therapy, education, recreation, and community activities into a single connected facility. Open courtyards and green areas act as the heart of the complex, providing daylight, fresh air, and visual relief.
- The project emphasizes accessibility: ramps, wide corridors, automatic doors, and restrooms are dimensioned for wheelchair use. Therapy areas, classrooms, and motor gymnasiums are directly linked to outdoor spaces to promote physical and mental well-being.
- The design follows a modular approach, ensuring flexibility for future expansion or adaptation based on user needs.
- Massing Idea
- The building mass is organized around a central landscaped courtyard. This courtyard becomes the anchor of orientation, social interaction, and natural ventilation. Surrounding blocks accommodate classrooms, therapy zones, outpatient clinics, and administration, creating a clear functional hierarchy.
- Different alternatives explore varied spatial strategies:
- Alternative 1: A compact courtyard model with multi-level organization, combining therapy, administration, and residential units above.
- Alternative 2: A similar compact form but with redistributed functions and larger activity halls, balancing indoor and outdoor interaction.
- Alternative 3: A more fragmented, pavilion-style layout spreading across the site, maximizing green areas and outdoor accessibility, while integrating residential units as separate blocks.
- The architectural language remains simple and functional, with strong emphasis on clarity of movement, safety, and inclusivity for children with special needs.
