- This project is part of Medad’s ongoing efforts to root Arab identity in architecture in Tripoli, Libya. The building, characterized by its simple cubic form, draws inspiration from the architectural vocabulary of the Maghreb region.
- The design emphasizes a multi-story entrance, blending the authentic proportions of traditional arches with a simplified, modernist interpretation of massing. Particular attention is given to the corners, edges, beginnings, and ends of the structure, along with a carefully considered variety in the shapes of openings. Together, these elements create a balanced and harmonious exterior envelope. The stone cladding not only enhances the architectural and economic value of the building but also contributes to its longevity.
